Data Control Tower overview

The application landscape today is increasingly complex, spanning multiple clouds and a wide range of platforms and services that support critical pipelines. This complexity often leads to fragmented, heterogeneous silos that make data management, automation, and compliance difficult to coordinate.

Data Control Tower (DCT) offers a simpler solution by providing a centralized control plane for Delphix infrastructure(s) and their connected objects, streamlining management, automation, and compliance across applications and cloud platforms.

To achieve this, DCT provides operational control and test data visibility that spans multi-cloud applications, databases, environments, and releases. DCT brings cataloging, tagging, and access controls for all enterprise data, while providing the right data at the right time to development teams.

Prerequisites

While the DCT interface exists on its own, its intended purpose is for streamlined operation and oversight across these connected infrastructures:

  1. Continuous Data Engine(s)

  2. Cloud Infrastructure(s) (PaaS Data Automation)

  3. Continuous Compliance Engine(s) can (optionally) be connected for data masking and compliance job management

License tiers

Data Control Tower has three tiers that determine available functionality and enabled use-cases via the DCT UI and API. They are Core, Self Service, and Enterprise, described in detail below.

DCT Core

Available to any customer with an active Continuous Data or Compliance license. This tier provides an entry-level experience aimed at smaller Delphix deployments or new users looking to explore DCT’s capabilities. This tier includes complete parity with the standard engine model, in addition to various improvements such as a supported CLI toolkit and centralized license usage and storage reports.

DCT for Self Service

Intended for Continuous Data-focused organizations that emphasize empowering developers and testing workflows. This tier delivers all DCT Core features, advanced self-service features (like bookmarking and locking), and selected DevOps integrations to shift left and enhance productivity.

DCT Enterprise

The full-featured, premium tier is designed for large, complex Delphix deployments that require comprehensive data management capabilities. This tier includes the entire suite of DCT features, supporting multi-engine workflows, deeper reporting, and (optional) AI-enhanced capabilities.
