Create a masking job for files

Use this task to create a masking job for file-based data. A masking job executes the masking algorithms defined in your rule set and generates masked output files.

Prerequisites

• You have created a rule set for your file data. See Create a rule set for flat data files or Create a rule set for semi-structured files.

• Optionally, you have run a Create a discovery job for files to auto-assign algorithms.

Steps

1. Go to Compliance > Compliance Jobs.

2. Click + Compliance Job.

3. In the What would you like to do? dialog, select Mask data and click Continue.

4. Select your rule set and click Next.

5. Review the job summary and click Submit.

   The masking job is created and ready to run.

6. Click Run to execute the masking job.

   The system applies masking algorithms to all configured fields and generates masked output files. You can monitor progress on the Execution page.

7. After the job completes, download or access the masked files from the connector location.

   The masked files contain the original structure with sensitive fields replaced by masked values according to the algorithms you configured.
