Create a rule set for semi-structured files
Use this task to create a rule set for semi-structured file formats, such as JSON, XML, and Parquet files. A rule set defines which fields in the file are masked and which masking algorithms apply to them.
Before you start, create the file connector and data formats you will use. See Create a file connector and Create a data format.
Steps

In the left navigation pane, click Compliance > Rule Sets.

Click + Rule Set, select Semi-Structured Files, and click Continue.

In the Details step:

Enter the rule set name.

Select the Purpose:

Mask — for masking and discovery jobs.

Tokenize — for tokenization, re-identification, and discovery jobs.
Purpose cannot be changed after the rule set is created. -

(Optional) Add tags: enter a Tag Key and Tag Value, then click + Tag.

Select the file Connector associated with the data files.

Click Next.

In the Data Files step, add the files to include in this rule set:

Click + Add File to add a specific file, or + Add Pattern to add files matching a name pattern.

In the Add File dialog:

File Names: Select one or more files from the connector's file path

Format File: select the data format that describes the file structure

Click Add.

Repeat for each file to include.

Click Next.

In the Summary step, review all details. Click Back to make changes, or click Submit to create the rule set.
