Multi-Output Business Rule Generator
The Multi-Output Business Rule Generator produces several named output columns from a single invocation. The rule body returns a dictionary keyed by each output's declared name.
Use this framework when a rule must generate correlated values for multiple output columns.
For more information on creating a generator, see Create a generator.
Configuration fields
Click + Add input to add an input or + Add output to add an output.
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Variable name | The name used to reference an input in the rule or the name of a returned output. |
| Input type | The input source for the variable. Options include Fields, Seed List, Whole File, and Static Value. |
| Table | The table that contains the input field. |
| Field | The field to use as an input. |
| Group Name | The name used to group related inputs. |
| Return type | The type of value returned for an output, such as STRING. |
| Target field | The dataset field that receives the output when the generator is assigned. |
| Logic | The rule that turns the inputs into outputs. Return a value for every named output declared in the configuration. |
Column inputs are bound to actual dataset columns when the generator is assigned. Each output is mapped to a dataset column at assignment time. Use the remove action on an input or output row to remove it.
When this generator is used for correlated generation, all grouped fields must belong to the same table. The generator runs once per row for the complete group. A group can produce more output keys than are currently bound to fields; unbound output keys are not written to the dataset.
In multi-value mode, Static Value is supported as an input type.

The configuration page reports syntax validation results, such as No syntax issues detected, when the rule has no syntax errors.
