Deployment upgrade

Upload new version image

To upload an upgraded version of DCT:

  1. Login to the Delphix Setup application.

  2. In the Software Version panel, click View.

  3. Click the + icon to upload a new version.

  4. Select the upgrade version file, downloaded from https://download.delphix.com/.

    1. The upload will begin when the new file is added and the status can be viewed in the Upload Status area of the window.

  5. In the Upload Complete window, click OK and a new version will appear on the page.

Once the new version image upload is complete, upgrade verification will automatically start. This process will notify you of any potential problems that require intervention from either you or Delphix support. The new version cannot be installed before verification is complete.

You can track the progress of verification from the Actions sidebar. If issues are found during the verification process, they will be listed on the version page. An upgrade will not be possible until all issues are resolved. Visit Resolving upgrade checks for more information.

Apply new version image

After the steps in the previous section are complete, warnings or issues are resolved, the upgrade is verified, and any necessary downtime is scheduled, the upgrade can then be performed.

  1. Login to the Delphix Setup application.

  2. In the Upgrade Images panel, click View.

  3. On the left side, select the version you will upgrade to.

  4. Click Apply Upgrade to initiate the upgrade process.

  5. PostgreSQL 14-to-18 upgrade timing: the database migration step itself is brief; the longer wait comes from the post-upgrade REINDEX sweep, which scales with the number of indexes rather than the database size in GB. The database container becomes Ready only after the migration and index rebuild finish, so total time depends primarily on index count and the workload present during the upgrade.

  6. The upgrade will run in the background. Only the current system admin user can view the progress from the Actions sidebar.

  7. If the upgrade is successful, the page will redirect to the login view.
