VDB UI

Overview

The VDB UI page can be accessed in a DCT environment by navigating to Data > Data Management > VDBs. From here, a landing page will deliver an overview of the VDBs across your Delphix infrastructure. Slated toward admins and developers, those users can now migrate from local engine interfaces to leveraging DCT's clean UI for daily VDB-related tasks, whether via Continuous Data engines or Self-Service.

The core benefit of this UI experience enables administrative ease with clear access and the ability to act upon any data on any connected engine (within the boundaries of the entitlements and permissions set by the admin-driven access control system).

New features

In DCT v2025.4.0, support has been introduced for viewing and editing configurations for oracle VDBs and vPDBs within the VDB Detail Page, under the Overview tab. This enhancement allows users to manage configurations as needed.

VDB detail page

Click the View button on any line item in the VDBs list to view the detail page for the selected VDB. There are 6 tabs associated with a VDB detail page, each containing different levels of information and actionable items.

Overview: Shows what platform the VDB is on and what the active status of it is. Additional details include VDB type, platform version, the VDB size, the JDBC connection string, the data connection string, and more. Configuration details pertain to settings specific to the VDB. Environment details delivers information like the environment name, whether it's single or multi-tenant, the OS it's on, and more. Custom variables and tags are optionally available.

Timeline History: Provides a comprehensive list of all recent timeline occurrences on the VDB, like a VDB provisioning, along with details about when they were executed.

Bookmarks: Lists any bookmarks associated with the VDB.

Policies: Lists any policies associated with the VDB.

Hooks: Lists any hook scripts configured for the VDB.

Access: Lists user access groups and permissions per each user.

Users will only be able to see VDBs if they have been granted access via the Access Control system.
