2026.2 release notes

March 2026

Continuous Data 2026.2.0.0 enhanced the user management to modify object level permissions, SAP Sybase ASE environments can now be configured with both Kerberos authentication and TLS encryption simultaneously, certification has been added for IBM AIX 7.3, Oracle 26ai, and Java Development Kit (JDK) is updated to JDK 17 version in the Delphix toolkit.

New features

Cache priority

This feature enables designated VDBs running on Elastic Data to deliver consistent, block-storage–like read performance. By proactively reserving and warming block storage cache for selected VDBs, this capability minimizes latency variability and ensures predictable performance from the moment a VDB is provisioned. This is especially valuable for critical workloads that require stable, high-speed data access. When you upgrade to version 2026.2.0.0 or newer, a reboot is required to enable this feature.

For more information, read Cache priority.

TLS support for ASE with Kerberos authentication

We now support SAP Sybase ASE environments configured with both Kerberos authentication and TLS encryption. TLS encryption was first introduced in release 23.0.0.0, and this release extends that capability by adding Kerberos-based authentication to further strengthen connection security. Kerberos verifies the identities of both the Delphix Engine and the Sybase ASE instance before a session is established, while TLS ensures that all data transmitted over the connection remains fully encrypted and protected from interception.

This feature is supported for SAP Sybase ASE versions 15.7 to 16.0 and requires TLSv1.2 or higher. Existing TLS-only or Kerberos-only environments are unaffected upon upgrade. Combined support must be explicitly enabled.

For more information, read Kerberos Authentication for Sybase ASE and TLS Security for Sybase ASE.

Changes to user access level permissions

The User Management setting has been enhanced to provide more granular control for the Engine Administrators. It has transitioned from a simple checkbox to a drop-down menu with three distinct access levels, allowing engine administrators to assign permissions more precisely by role and responsibility. This update improves security, and offers greater flexibility in managing administrative responsibilities.

For more information, read Manage Delphix users.

Upgrade to JDK 17

The Java Development Kit (JDK) toolkit running on the host has been upgraded from JDK 8 to JDK 17. This update brings improved performance, security enhancements, and long-term support features aligned with modern Java standards.

BYOJ (Bring Your Own JDK) now requires JDK 17

The BYOJ feature has been updated to support JDK 17 only. Older JDK versions, including JDK 8, are no longer compatible.

Oracle 26ai

Oracle 26ai is now supported starting with Continuous Data 2026.2.0.0. Refer to the Oracle matrix for supported configurations.

Oracle AIX 7.3 certification

Certification has been added for AIX 7.3 for Oracle databases, starting with Delphix Continuous Data Engine 2025.3.0.1 and later. Specific 7.3 technology levels (TL2 SP4, TL3 SP1, TL4, and later) must be installed.

For more information, refer to the Oracle matrix for supported configurations.

ESXi 9.0 certification

Continuous Data now supports ESXi 9.0 for VMware deployments, starting with version 2026.1.0.0

For more information, read Deployment for VMware.

TDE OKV multiple OKV_HOME per target host (DCT UI)

Multiple OKV clients per host are now supported. Different Oracle databases running on the same host can use either the same or different OKV clients to connect to one or more OKV servers, and work with the same or different wallets. This replaces the previous OKV implementation, which allowed only a single OKV client per host. Under the old model, all databases on a host were required to share one OKV client and connect to the same OKV server using a single wallet.

Continuous Data parity – SQL Server (DCT UI)

All available Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server UI and API features in Continuous Data are now fully supported in Data Control Tower.  The remaining set of SQL Server features and other improvements has been migrated in 2026.2 and includes environment creation, dSource linking, snapshot ingestion, and VDB provisions. We encourage Delphix administrators to install and migrate their day-to-day SQL Server management to DCT.

For more information, read Continuous Data in DCT and SQL Server connector on Ecosystem Hub.

Continuous Data Connectors (Datasets) documentation migration

Continuous Data Connectors documentation, previously known as datasets documentation, is moving from Continuous Data to Ecosystem Hub to consolidate connector information with other connector content.

The terms datasets, data sources, and plugins will now be referred to as connectors across Delphix documentation. These updates reduce duplication and align terms consistently across Delphix products.

  • No product functionality is changing, for now this is a documentation-only update.

  • Existing links will continue to work where possible with redirects or updated navigation.

  • You may notice updated headings, labels, and references reflecting the new connector terminology.

To find detailed overviews, requirements, and workflows particular to specific connectors in their new documentation home, visit Continuous Data Connectors on Ecosystem Hub and select your desired connector.

Fixes that take effect after upgrading and rebooting

Issue number Description
DLPX-96088 This change provides more time for the object agent to stabilize after restart, preventing unnecessary restarts.

Known issues

Issue number Summary Workaround
DLPX-90568 A sysadmin user cannot view actions initiated by a different sysadmin user. None
DLPX-95004 Virtual source enable may fail with "exception.lifecycle.cannot.enable.with.null.timeflow" exception if a previous refresh operation fails None
DLPX-95446 VM images for IBM Cloud are not available for 2025.5+ due to cloud platform integration issue. For new engine deployments on IBM Cloud, install 2025.4 and upgrade to 2025.5+.
DLPX-95940 After upgrading to Java 17, SQL Server connections may require additional configuration because encryption is enabled by default, requiring a valid CA certificate to establish the connection. None
DLPX-96762 If a VDB's cache priority is set to High after upgrading to 2026.2.0.0 without a reboot, this feature will not be enabled. An error is given but the VDB's cache priority is not reset to Normal. Once the engine has been rebooted, the VDB cache priority should be manually reset to Normal. The priority can now be set to High to enable the feature.
DLPX-96766 When multiple VDBs are enabled with High cache priority in quick succession, it may appear the job succeeded although some VDBs may be reset back to Normal if the cache reservation space is exceeded. None
