Add a PostgreSQL environment in DCT

Add PostgreSQL source, staging, and target environments so DCT can host connector operations, dSources, and VDBs. Each PostgreSQL host must have an operating system user that meets Delphix requirements. You add your environment as a new infrastructure connection.

Procedure

  1. Log in to DCT.

  2. Open Infrastructure Connections.

  3. Click + Infrastructure Connections.

  4. On the Create Infrastructure Connection page, enter a Connection Name and select the CD Engine you connected earlier.

  5. Click Next. On the Host & Server page, select the Host OS and Server Type:

    1. Host OS: select Unix or Windows. For PostgreSQL data sources, only Unix is supported.

    2. Server Type: select Standalone or Cluster.

  6. Click Next. On the Settings page, enter the following details:

    1. Host / IP Address: Hostname or IP address of the environment host.

    2. SSH Port: SSH port for the host. The default is 22.

    3. Login Settings: Select Username and Password, then provide OS credentials.

    4. Toolkit Path: Path to persistent working directory for Delphix engine operations, with separate subdirectories for each database instance. 0770 permissions and at least 345 MB of free space required.

    5. Java Development Kit: By default, Delphix installs its own JDK. If you select Provide my own JDK, enter the absolute path to the JDK on the host.

    6. Advanced Options: Optional settings such as Discover the SAP ASE, Set Network File System (NFS) Address, or Set Delphix Session Protocol (DSP).

  7. Click Validate, confirm that validation succeeds, and then click Next.

  8. Review the Summary, and click Submit.

Your environment is now added as an infrastructure connection in DCT.

After you add the environment

The environment appears in the Infrastructure Connections list. From the connection detail page, you can manage encryption, environment users, notes, and tags.
