Manage VDBs in DCT

View VDB details

To view and modify VDB details:

  1. Log in to DCT.

  2. Navigate to Data > Data Management > VDBs, select a VDB and click View.

  3. On the Overview page, review the VDB details and select Edit to modify Configuration and Environment Details .

View timeline history

To view data timeline history:

  1. Log in to DCT.

  2. Navigate to Data > Data Management > VDBs, select a VDB and click View.

  3. Select the Timeline tab to review the data timeline history of the VDB.

  4. Click the Actions menu on the timeline history, perform the following tasks:

    • Refresh: Refresh the VDB using this point in time snapshot in the timeline.

    • Retention: Modify the retention policy duration for the timeline.

    • Create Bookmark: Create a bookmark for a timeline history.

    • Provision VDB: Provision a VDB from VDB snapshot in the timeline. For more information, refer to Provisioning a SQL Server VDB.

    • Delete: Delete the selected timeline history.

View bookmarks

To view bookmarks:

  1. Log in to DCT.

  2. Navigate to Data > Data Management > VDBs, select a VDB and click View.

  3. Select the Bookmarks tab to review the bookmarks associated with the VDB.

  4. Click the Actions menu on the bookmark, perform the following tasks:

    • Refresh to Bookmark: Refresh the VDB using this bookmark.

    • Update Bookmark: Modify the bookmark details.

    • Delete: Delete the bookmark.

View and edit policies

To view policies:

  1. Log in to DCT.

  2. Navigate to Data > Data Management > VDBs, select a VDB and click View.

  3. Select Change Policy to modify the policy details.

View and edit hooks operations

To view and modify hooks:

  1. Log in to DCT.

  2. Navigate to Data > Data Management > VDBs, select a VDB and click View.

  3. Select the Hooks tab to review hook operations associated with the VDB.

  4. Select any hook from the Hook Points and click +New Hook to add an operation. Refer to SQL Server hook operations for more information.

View access details

To view access details in DCT:

  1. Log in to DCT.

  2. Navigate to Data > Data Management > VDBs, select a VDB and click View.

  3. Select the Access tab to review the user access and associated permissions for the VDB.

  4. Select View to review and modify user access details.
