Create a source configuration for Connectors in DCT

Complete these common steps before you use any of the method-specific procedures in the following sections.

Procedure

  1. Open Infrastructure Connections.

  2. Click View to open the environment where you want to add the source config (for example, Postgres Staging Env).

  3. Open the Data tab.

  4. On the Data tab, expand the installation where you want to add the source config.

  5. Scroll to the Data Sources section and click + Source Database. The Add Database dialog opens.

  6. In the Add Database dialog, name your source config (for example, pg-src-config) and click Save.

  7. Confirm the new source config appears in the Data Sources list with the following details:

    • Database User: None

    • Allow Linking: True

    • dSource: None

    • Tags: No tags added

Launch the Create and Link dSource Wizard

  1. Launch the wizard in one of the following ways:

    • From your new source config entry, click + dSource.

    • Open Data Management > dSources and click + dSource.

  2. On the dSource Type page, select Source Based dSource and click Next.

  3. Starting from PostgreSQL connector version 4.3.0, a new source config parameter Export Path for Kubernetes VDB on Delphix Engine is available. Do not fill this field manually; it is only used to return the export path for VDBs created using the Kubernetes provisioning workflow. The field is visible only in Delphix Continuous Data Engine versions below 14.0.0.0.

  4. On the Select Data Source page, select the PostgreSQL source configuration (for example, pg-src-config with platform postgres-vsdk).
