Uploading the upgrade image

Version compatibility and support pre-checks

Refer to the Upgrade matrix before you upgrade to a newer version.

For upgrades from version 5.3.9 or older to version 6.0.0.0 or newer, contact Delphix support to help coordinate your upgrade.

Upgrades from version 6.0.0.0 to newer versions (For example: 6.0.0.0 → 6.0.7.0) include pre-checks packaged in the upgrade image. Contacting Delphix support is not required.

To upload an upgrade version to the Delphix Engine:

  1. Log in to the Delphix Setup application.

  2. In the Software Version panel, click View.

  3. Click the plus icon to upload a new version.

  4. Select the upgrade .tar file you downloaded from the Delphix download site. Do not extract or modify the file. No unpacking or additional processing is required.

Your upload begins when you drop or select a file (upgrade image) into the Upload Upgrade Image window. You can view upload progress under Upload Status.

  5. In the Upload Complete window, click OK. You see the new version appear on the page.

When the upgrade image upload completes, upgrade verification starts automatically.

This verification process notifies you of any potential problems that require intervention from either you or Delphix support. You cannot install the new version of the Delphix Engine before verification completes. You can track verification progress from the Actions sidebar. Any issues found during the verification process are listed on the version page. Upgrading is not possible until the issues are resolved.
